Install VS Code on Windows
Follow along to install VS Code and add the Claude Code, Codex, Python, R, and Office Viewer extensions.

Install VS Code first
Download the Windows installer, follow the setup instructions, and open VS Code.
Add the extensions you need
Choose Claude Code by Anthropic, Codex by OpenAI, and Python by Microsoft.
Install the analysis software separately
The Python and R extensions connect these tools to VS Code. You also need Python and R themselves to run analyses.
